OHSAS is the acronym of Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series. Founded on already published criteria such as the Management Regulations 1992 and BS 8800, the OHSAS 18001 is the radical certification specification for a quality Occupational Health and Safety Management System to facilitate an organization to control its OH&S risks and improve its performance.
Product or service safety is not covered by this standard. It only safeguards the health and safety of employees and other stakeholders.
The International Organization for Standardization awards the OHSAS 18001 certificate to all organizations regardless of their size, type and location.
